A Threadtrend reader wrote to ask where she could get tights like the ones featured in Vera Wang’s Lavender Label Fall 2009 collection. Funny she should ask because I’ve recently had trouble getting my hands on tights since stores are pushing winter fare out to move the spring stuff in. Of course, there are always colorful options available at American Apparel, but as I’ve mentioned before, they’re too damned tight in the tummy.
I suggested she go with We Love Colors, which I’ve mentioned before but hadn’t tried out until recently. Having finally sampled their microfiber tights (4 pairs!), I wholeheartedly endorse them–they’re thick, not shiny, and comfy in the belly region. Plus, they have a ton of colors–from classic to quirky–all year round. Including some just like Vera’s models are sporting.
Decent prices too.

The Obsession of the Week is the new Junior Boys’ song “Bits and Pieces”. The song is off their heavily anticipated new album Begone Dull Care. I was very big fan of their last album “So This is Goodbye”, so I was very excited to hear the new single and album. The duo spent most of 2008 working on the release, which will arrive in the US on April 7th via Domino Records. They will be touring the US in late March with Max Tundra.

Last night the Grammy Awards invaded Los Angeles. This year’s festivities were light on the actual handing out of the awards (10 on air) and very heavy on performances. With so many performances, and all of them featuring a rotating line up of the same people (Justin Timberlake, T.I., Stevie Wonder, etc.) the above clip of Radiohead‘s “15 Step” was a breath of fresh air. Thom Yorke busted out his best Hip Hop crazyman dance moves, backed by the USC marching band. Radiohead didn’t take home the big award, but they did end up winning Best Alternative Album, which seemed fitting as the band was definitely the alternative to everything else that graced the stage last night.
The other buzz-worthy portion of the event was M.I.A. taking the stage 9-months pregnant. She is actually due to give birth today, yet she graced the stage, danced around and stole the show from such heavyweights like Jay-z, T.I., Lil Wayne and the self-proclaimed voice of our genration (insert snicker) Kanye West. M.I.A also made waves with her Grammy arrival outfit which was all kinds of crazy, but in a sea of very boring, safe choices at least it wasn’t a snore. I wonder if it was from her own line. Check it out along with lots more Grammy fashion after the cut.
