I stumbled upon this collection of exclusive garments produced for Opening Ceremony by New York- based Pegleg on Hyperbeast. Even though I’m not the hugest fan of color,  I instantly fell in love with these bold designs, which are definitely made to stand out. The 3-color blocked T-shirts are available at Opening Ceremony’s online store.

London Fashion Week Fall ’09: Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony

“My references are all over the map, from skinheads to Connecticut kids to St. Mark’s Place.” says Chloe Sevigny about her latest collection for Opening Ceremony. The line is a unisex venture, made for guys but scaled down to fit girls.

Lots of bold print, voluminous silhouettes, high waists, and even a modern-day James Dean-esque red jacket.  I had my eye on those grey trousers on the mustached fellow until I remembered I can’t wear pleats.

Hey ladies and gents, the time has finally arrived: Opening Ceremony is online! Just in time for the recession, I know, but still I’m a big believer in buying a few quality pieces rather than loads of crap. And, believe you me, plenty of the stuff they’re hawking is worth saving up for.

It’s enough to make you want to play ping pong or paddle ball…whatever.

Looking through the Laist, I was delighted to come across this little feature on Hello Kitty coming to Los Angeles. One of Threadtrend’s favorite stores, Opening Ceremony, has brought in a Hello Kitty house from Puroland. The house sits in the men’s department of the store where it fits right in with the globally-themed Japanese designers currently on display. While you’re there, check out the limited Lanvin & Acne line.

Check out the house below and for more pictures head over to the Laist.

Betsey Johnson Opens the Archives

p1020138

When I was in high school, they opened a Betsey Johnson store at the local outlet mall, and I was super excited. My mom would pretty much set me loose in there, letting me stock up on the previous season’s markdowns. It was heaven. I remember one particular dress with raspberry buttons–why did I ever get rid of that thing?

Well, maybe that dress and I will be reunited because WWD reports that the designer will release a capsule collection of her greatest hits. Johnson is joining up with Humberto Leon and Carol Lim of Opening Ceremony to open the archives. The result will be a 35-piece collection of authentic re-issues. Nice.

The capsule collection will hit Opening Ceremony stores in LA and NYC this fall, along with a few Betsey Johnson locations.
