Last weekend we attended the opening party for the premiere of Dan Graham: Beyond at MOCA. The interactive exhibit is a must see as it melds photographs, film, video and architectural models. I overheard one party guest declare “This is not Art”, so I kind of knew I was in the right place.
The event featured a performance from Thurston Moore and Kim Gordon from the legendary Sonic Youth, performing as the duo Mirror/Dash which is also the name of Kim’s new fashion line. They played outside with the Downtown Los Angeles sky line as there backdrop, and a huge crowd of fans witnessed a performance that shredded as they whipped the crowd into a frenzy.
Check out more pictures after the cut.
