This past Sunday Threadtrend took part in the history making finale to Nike’s Human Race, which took place on the streets of Los Angeles surrounding Exposition Park. I held down the fort at the media tent while Valentina stepped it up and took part in 10k run with thousands of others, who ran for a variety of causes (WWF was Threadtrend’s cause). Valentina finished her 10k run in a respectable 1:16:22.

Over in the media tent, there wasn’t too much going on, but there were a lot of Olympians with their bling on diplay (unfortunately, I couldn’t tell you who since I boycotted the Olympics, but it was quite something to see those medals up close). I kind of freaked out seeing Jason Priestly from the old 90210, and I wanted to call him Brandon (he hasn’t aged well–he’s the bearded one below), and while one of the members from the new 90210 cast was being interviewed, they asked him about Brenda a.k.a. Shannon Doherty. I wanted to elbow the interviewer and say, “ask if shes really a bitch.”

After the race was completed, the runners were treated to a concert from Kanye West and Common. Although it wasn’t the full Glow in the Dark tour set up, it was still a big production with a light show worthy of an arena setting. It was quite fitting that the show took place with the Memorial Coliseum as the backdrop since 15,000 strong crowd of runners watched as Kanye laid down a set packed full of hits. Kanye ended the show with his mega hit “Stronger,” which left the crowd shouting Kanye’s name, but there was no encore.
