This fall a lot of great releases are going to be coming out. You can expect new music from Jenny Lewis, Antony & The Johnsons, Metallica, TV on the Radio, Kidsister, Deerhoof, The Secret Machines and many more.
Here are some of the most eagerly awaited releases of the fall, as well as a sampling from each album:
First up is Deerhunter’s new release Microcastle (mark my words this album will be on so many year end best of lists, including Threadtrend’s) which is out on Nov 28th.
Deerhunter– Never Stops
Okkervil River will release their follow-up to the stage names on Sept 2nd. The new album is called the Stand Ins on Sept 2nd.
Okkervil River- Pop Lie
Of Montreal will release there new album Skeletal Lamping on Oct 7th

Travis‘ new album, which is coming out pretty swiftly after the last one or at least it seems like that, is called Ode to J Smith and gets released on Sept 30th.
Travis- Something Anything
Oasis will release Dig your Own Soul on Oct 7th. They will do a brief tour of the US, which starts this month and then they should be back here in Nov.

The Cure will release their new album, which is still untitled, on Sept 13th. The album has already been preceded by 4 singles, which have been better than expected.
The Cure- The Perfect Boy
Kings of Leon are set to release Only By the Night. This is a band that has definitely grown on me. They have gotten better with each release–I’ve already heard some of these cuts, and it looks they have achieved it once again.
Kings of Leon- Sex on Fire
Art rockers Mogwai will release the follow up to Mr Beast on Sept 23rd. The album is entitled The Hawk is Howling, and it will be preceded by an EP that is being released in early September to coincide with their Fall US tour with Fuck Buttons.
Girl Talk‘s follow up to Night Ripper will be out on September 23rd. The new album is called Feed the Animals and has already been given a digital release. The album is more of what you loved from the first albums’ mixtape mashups feel.
Girl Talk– Still Here
Bloc Party have taken an alternate route to releasing their new album Intimacy. It is being given a digital release today, and the hard copy will be out on Oct 28th.
Bloc Party- Mercury
The latest from Mark Skinner (aka The Streets) will be out on Sept 16th and is titled Everything’s Borrowed.
The Streets- The Escapist
Cold War Kids have the follow up to their very successful last album coming out on Sept 23rd. They’re headlining the Sunset Junction festival this weekend in support of the new album, which is called Loyalty to Loyalty .
Cold War Kids- Something is Not Right with Me
The new one by Calexico is called Carried to Dust and gets its release on sept 9th.
Calexico- Two Silver Trees
And we just recently told you about Devendra Banhart‘s side project called Megapuss. There debut release comes out on Oct 7th and is called Surfing.
