Threadtrend favorite Giant Robot is curating an art instillation called “Insiders, Outsiders & the Middle” at the Scion Instillation L.A. gallery in Culver City. This exhibit explores the “disparate mindsets of artists” and will run from Aug. 2 to Aug. 23.
For the purposes of this show, “Insiders” are artists who create indoors, in front of their computers and “don’t leave their chairs long enough to hang their pieces on walls.” “Outsiders” are artists like Space Invader who uses walls around the world as his canvas. “The Middle” refers to physically active artists who don’t get the concept of the “the stationary artist” or the traditional gallery setting.
Artists include: Noriko Ashino, Adrian Johnson, Nao Harada, Ed Trask (drummer from Avail and the only American in the bunch) and more.
I don’t know about you, I’m definitely intrigued.
The opening ceremony is tomorrow (Saturday Aug 2) from 7pm-10pm.
